Because tankettes are still badass and the Wiesel proves this by allowing use of multiple weapon systems interchangeably on an itty bitty chassis. And if it’s not carrying a weapon, it can be made to accomidate up to five infantrymen.
It can be airdropped as well, allowing airborne infantry some degree of armored support that most airborne units don’t have.
It’s like the Germans saw the M551 and went “We can make it better.” And they did.
Well, at least, in my opinion they did. Wiesels naturally are a bit expensive and since it’s a tank the mileage on the little bastards are in need of supplementation by external fuel sources (ex: jerry cans strapped to its ass end).
From 2011 to 2014 all I experienced from the US Army was SUCK and ASS. Too many little kids thinking they're tough shit once they leave basic and Drill Sgt. aint there to put a boot up their pee-hole...
Honestly, if you REALLY want to join the American armed forces, for whatever reason that may be, I’d suggest going reserves for the time being. That way you can still play army and do troop movements and go on patrols before going home and doing whatever it is you can to help yourself and your community.
(No really, get into a trade and do something fun)
Well, officially if they find out that you have it you get kicked out ASAP.
I wouldn’t recommend joining the US Armed Forces at the moment anyways, unless you’re looking to get into trades. Otherwise, you’ll be nothing more than a glorified groundskeeper unless you’re going Airborne, which might let you see more infantry exercises, but still be aware that your daily regiment will be filled with suck and ass.
