Well my illiterate anon, the top half of the description of my blog is as follows: "This is a military blog that features pictures and videos of weapons, vehicles, and the individuals who use them on a daily basis."
If I feel like teaching my followers about a goddamn tank, I’m going to write and post a short article on that goddamn tank and if you don’t like it I’d suggest you unfollow this blog right now, because all I’m going to do is disappoint you with an inherent lack of eye candy for you to slap your balls to.
Who, the police officer? Shit gets cold in the winter, anon. It can drop down to the 30’s (Fahrenheit of course). Along with that, it’s basic psyops shenanigans that dictate wearing a mask in combat will make your enemy more likely to fear you.
Let’s face it, who seems more intimidating to you?
Or this guy?
And I’m willing to bet an overwhelming majority of you had chose the latter. But why? Because you can’t see his face.
And it’s because of that, that guys who wear gas masks, or pilots helmets come off as cold, calculating, and deadly. Because you can’t read their emotional status. Instead, you see the outline of their visor, or their eye slits. There is no mouth to convey anger though barred teeth, or sadness through a frown, or panic through a howl. Instead, their mouth is covered, and their eyes are covered to prevent you from guessing their next move.
I know it's been asked before, but this time I'd like to be a little bit more precise. Which side do you favor, the SAA or the FSA?
Hmm, that’s a bit personal.
I think, personally, that the SAA started off with really shitty infantry that was hardly ready to face this kind of fighting. But like the Germans in WWII, their fighting force became battle hardened through years of intense urban warfare.
The FSA has always acted as an insurgent force. Rumors had been flying around that the FSA was funded by Al-qaeda, and there’s been multiple videos thrown around which show the FSA being reinforced by Chechen foreign fighters. Along with being funded by the CIA, it seems as though that the FSA is becoming an internationally funded terrorist group.
So, if anything, I sort of like the SAA better. They seem to be the underdogs who are slowly rising to the top. Now that Russia is funding their army, sooner or later, Syria’s military is going to turn out like Israel’s, constantly fighting against insurgency inside the borders.
Combat in the streets of Damascus. Pretty solid armor mechanized armor tactics, I have to admit.
Propaganda aside, this is a damned good video with a good show of how to employ mechanized forces in an urban environment.
Entrancing stuff. We’ll be looking at this in a generation from now like we look at German show reels of combat action in the 1940’s today.
I wouldn’t go that far. But I do think that they definitely pulled their heads out of their asses. I’m sure we all remember the videos of T-72 columns going unescorted down the streets. And some of the BMP-2 videos where they, too, travel unescorted by infantry down roads littered with cover for a potential saboteur. Now they’re utilizing a rearguard element to protect the tanks and APC while the tanks indirectly engage garrisoned infantry, and the APC words with a watchful commander to deploy mechanized infantry into the structure to clear the building(s) of FSA insurgents.
